->What is Tradition to you when it comes to preparing a funeral?
1. Choose a Funeral Home
2. Make funeral Arrangements (place, date, time, burial)
3. Select Casket, flowers, obituaries and cemetery(provide colors and styles)
4. Surrender Insurance Policy or Pay bill (sign necessary paperwork)
5. Bring clothing and request special hairstyles.
6. Come in for first Viewing (make changes if necessary)
7. Have service next day, bury at cemetery and bid local funeral director farewell until next time.
Is this how things normally go after the passing of a loved one? Well this is how it has been going as of late.
1. Choose Funeral Home
2. Sign papers for the deceased to be transfered and cremated
3. Select and Purchase an urn (Sign necessary paperwork)
4. Bid local Funeral director farewell until next time
5. Have a Memorial Service at the place of choice(a week or two from the time of passing)
As you can see, tradition is out the door. People are doing what is best for them. Sometimes to get everything done in one day is what's best for them. Traditionally the director would see the family 3-5 times before the service. Some are respecting the wishes of their deceased loved ones. Either way, they are moving from the traditions of old. You have to be the judge of what is best for you and be prepared for the price of these things....this is the "Real World". In the "Real World" the funeral is for the living, not the dead.....
